If you are visiting Ingonish or the surrounding area, pack your camera and binoculars and get ready for the experience of a lifetime off of the coast of Cape Breton. Join Captain Chester Whitty aboard the Joan Malachi, a 45 ft (13.7 m) fishing/touring vessel, for a thrilling 2 hour tour of the North Atlantic off of the coast of Smokey Mountain. 

 

The Joan Malachi runs on a wet exhaust system which allows for a quiet and fume free ride. The large deck space provides ample room and has seating that will accommodate large groups.  You will get to share the waters with the magnificent giants of the sea and experience the beauty of the Cabot Trail and it's beautiful coastline. 

 

Captain Chester Whitty is a life long resident of Ingonish and a seasoned veteran of the sea. Chester has made his living fishing lobster and snow crab for more than 30 years. He enjoys sharing his experiences with travelers and will demonstrate how lobsters are trapped.  Common sightings include: Minke Whales, Pilot Whales, Fin Whales, Humpback Whales, White-Sided Dolphins, Harbour Porpoises, Blue Fin Tuna, Sea Turtles, Seals, Bald Eagles, and many species of seabirds.
